Frequently Asked Questions

How buying works on ACS Marketplace, including accounts, DOA and warranty coverage, grading, and freight

Frequently Asked Questions

Short answers first. For the full buying flow see How Buying Works. For condition tiers, coverage, and the grading scale see the Condition & Warranty Guide.

Buying

Do I need an account to browse?

No. Anyone can browse hardware listings without signing up. Messaging ACS and requesting a quote requires an organization account, which you can create yourself.

How do I get an account?

Sign up with your organization name and contact details. Your organization is active straight away — there's no waiting period before you can message ACS or request a quote. If a colleague has already created an organization for your company and your email domain matches it, you'll be offered the option to join theirs rather than creating a second one.

ACS may suspend or revoke access at its sole discretion. Seller accounts are separate and remain invitation-only.

Who am I buying from?

Most marketplace lots are ACS inventory or ACS-managed consignment. You work the deal with ACS, not a third-party storefront checkout.

How does a purchase actually happen?

Browse a listing, create an organization if you don't have one, then message ACS from the listing to confirm quantity, coverage, and freight. Nothing is reserved or sold until ACS issues a Sales Order and both sides execute it. Step-by-step: How Buying Works.

Is the price negotiable?

Often, yes. Quantity, lot take-all, and coverage can change the number. Ask in the listing conversation.

DOA and warranty

What coverage can a listing have?

Each listing states its own coverage. Typical options:

Coverage Typical window What it means
As-is — No ACS coverage. All sales final.
DOA protection Usually 7 days Unit will not power on or hash after delivery. ACS replaces it or issues credit.
Limited warranty Usually 30 or 90 days Functional failures such as a dead hashboard, PSU, or control board.
Manufacturer warranty Per manufacturer terms New units only. Coverage is the factory warranty, passed through.

The listing and the Sales Order control the window and scope. They are not the same on every lot. Details: Condition & Warranty Guide.

Does DOA cover low hashrate or cosmetic wear?

No. DOA is for a unit that is dead on arrival. Underperformance, missing accessories, and cosmetic issues are outside DOA unless the Sales Order says otherwise.

Can I buy extended warranty?

Some lots offer longer limited coverage (commonly 30 or 90 days) instead of 7-day DOA. Ask in the conversation if a listing is as-is or 7-day and you want a longer plan.

Grading

How does ACS grade miners?

ACS uses four inventory types — New, Used, Refurbished, and For Parts — plus optional coverage. Used and refurbished units can also carry inspection grades on three axes:

  • Thermal — heat history and dissipation (strongest reliability signal)
  • Corrosion — rust, oxidation, moisture wear
  • Cosmetic — housing, scratches, dents (appearance, not performance)

An overall grade summarizes those axes. Letter scale: A excellent, B good, C fair, D poor, F failing (thermal / overall only).

Are grades on every listing today?

Not yet. Inventory type and coverage are on listings now. Full inspection grades will appear as units are graded. The scale itself is documented in the Condition & Warranty Guide.

Shipping

How does freight work?

Hardware ships freight from the listing origin. The listing Shipping tab shows origin and pallet count. A destination ZIP quote calculator is on that tab; live Uber Freight estimates are coming soon.

Who pays for shipping?

Freight is quoted to your site and confirmed on the Sales Order. Lift-gate and residential delivery change the rate.

Selling

Can I list my own equipment?

Seller accounts are invitation-only. For consignment — ACS lists and sells, you get paid per the agreed terms — contact us.
