ACS Miner Condition & Warranty Guide

Listings show inventory type and coverage today. Inspection grades (thermal, corrosion, cosmetic, overall) will appear on listings as units are graded. Coverage windows are those on the listing and the Sales Order — they are not uniform across the marketplace.

How We Classify Our Inventory

Every miner we sell falls into one of four categories:

New

Factory-sealed units that have never been powered on or deployed. These come with the full manufacturer warranty (per manufacturer terms) and arrive in original packaging.

Used

Previously deployed miners sold in their current operational state. Used miners are graded on cosmetic condition (A through D) and may include DOA protection or be sold as-is. Some used units may be cleaned or have a service tier applied, but this is not required.

Refurbished

Previously deployed miners that our technicians have serviced, tested, and verified. Every refurbished unit requires a service tier (Refreshed or Certified) and includes a Limited Warranty per the listing's coverage terms. These are graded on both cosmetic condition and the service level performed.

For Parts

Non-functional or partially functional units we've determined aren't economical to repair. These are sold as-is with no warranty for buyers who want to harvest components or have the expertise to repair them. We list all known issues for transparency.

Inspection grades

ACS grades used and refurbished miners on three axes, then rolls them into an overall grade. These are good-faith inspection labels, not a warranty.

Axis What it measures Scale
Thermal Temperature history, hotspots, and heat dissipation. The strongest signal for long-term reliability. A–F
Corrosion Rust, oxidation, and moisture wear on boards and connectors. A–D
Cosmetic Scratches, dents, and housing condition. Appearance — limited impact on performance. A–D
Overall Combined floor of the axes above. A–F
Grade Label
A Excellent
B Good
C Fair
D Poor
F Failing (thermal / overall only)

A strong thermal grade matters more than a pretty chassis. A cosmetic C with a thermal A is usually the better miner.

Cosmetic Grades (Used & Refurbished)

How the miner looks on the outside:

Grade Label What to Expect
A Excellent Looks nearly new. Minimal signs of use—maybe light dust residue but no scratches, dents, or discoloration.
B Good Light wear from normal use. Minor scratches or scuffs, possibly some dust staining. All labels intact and legible.
C Fair Clearly been working hard. Visible scratches, scuffs, minor dents, or staining. Fully functional despite the wear.
D Worn Significant cosmetic wear—noticeable scratches, dents, or discoloration. Structurally sound but won't win any beauty contests.

Important: Cosmetic grade does not indicate performance. A Grade C Certified miner with new thermal paste and fans will often outperform a Grade A used miner that hasn't been serviced.

Service Tiers

What our technicians have done to service the miner:

Tier Name Services Included
— Cleaned Compressed air cleaning throughout, visual inspection
Refreshed Refreshed Cleaned + new thermal paste applied to all hashboards + functional testing and burn-in
Certified Certified Refurbished Everything in Refreshed + all miner cooling fans replaced

Optional Upgrade: PSU Fan Replacement

For Certified units, you may see "+ PSU" indicating that PSU cooling fans have also been replaced. This is an optional upgrade beyond the standard Certified service.

Service Requirements by Inventory Type

Type Service Tier
New Not applicable
Used Optional (Cleaned, Refreshed, or none)
Refurbished Required (Refreshed or Certified)
For Parts Not applicable

Warranty & Coverage Options

What happens if something goes wrong:

Coverage Typical window What's Covered
Manufacturer Warranty Per manufacturer terms Full factory warranty per manufacturer terms. Available on New units only.
Limited Warranty Usually 30 or 90 days Covers functional failures—dead hashboards, PSU failure, control board issues. Does not cover cosmetic damage, user error, or power surge damage.
DOA Protection Usually 7 days If the unit is dead on arrival (won't power on or hash), we'll replace it or issue credit. Does not cover underperformance or cosmetic issues.
None (As-Is) — All sales final. You assume all risk. Standard for For Parts inventory.

Ask in the listing conversation if you want a longer limited plan than the lot shows. The Sales Order is the source of truth.
